Mārupe BMX Club is a sports organization founded in 2010 to promote an active lifestyle and develop BMX competition cycling in Mārupe municipality. The establishment of the club is an initiative of local enthusiasts. In cooperation with the Mārupe Municipality Council and other supporters, a BMX sports infrastructure has been created, maintained and improved, which also meets international standards for organizing BMX competitions.
The club operates in the Tīraine area of Mārupe municipality, at Lapiņu dambis 19, where a multifunctional sports and active recreation park has been created. It includes a BMX track, which is suitable for both beginners and experienced athletes. In addition to the BMX track, the park also offers other active recreation opportunities – a pumptrack track, a trail park track, a basketball court, a gymnastics area and a roller skating rink, which is used for skating and hockey in the winter season.
Mārupe BMX Club, in cooperation with the social enterprise "Drošas velobraukšanas skola", organizes cycling training for children and young people, offering both individual and group lessons to develop cycling technique and mastery. The lessons are led by experienced coaches, who help not only to acquire skills, but also to prepare for competitions. The club regularly organizes competitions and events, popularizing BMX sport both locally and nationally.
Mārupe BMX Sports Park provides the opportunity to rent bicycles and equipment, which makes the sport of BMX competitive cycling accessible to the wider community.
The Mārupe BMX Sports Park community is actively involved in various community projects, promoting the importance of sports and a healthy lifestyle in the local area, Mārupe municipality and beyond.
